The Humans of Moonspalm:
The Human races have long been a mystery. They didn't spring from nowhere, but nobody is sure where they came from. This has been lost, even to the careful and methodical lore keeping of the elves, and the dwarves appeared above the mountain after they had a few kings to call their own. The dragons speak of a powerful empire which once existed before modern elves, where in the creatures bore a striking resemblance to humans. The golden faith lore states that it was Esmerenda who created them, after the elves and dwarves and the elder races, so who could really trust a dragon? Priests of Sol claim that humans have been charted as a race in the original psalm, according to Sol. So they were always meant to be there. Conflicting accounts of the story can be given by many races, and even a few surviving beings who claim they were there when it happened. And regardless of which one is right, the human race, and their place in the world has long been questioned. They come in many different ethnic groups. The dark skinned Shongari, the pale skinned Eugencians, and the mysterious Ryujin are just a few examples of the diversity they appear in. But while once depicted as the most mundane mortal race, as once thought of by the elves, new races of humans have arose to challenge that notion. The innately magical Asmians, the mysterious Mezzoramians, and the strange Agarthians to name a few. Humans adapt after all. And scholars speculate that there will be far more to see from this short lived race in the future.
Andric's note: A boring race?
I got tired of people describing humans as a bland race. If you regard humans as boring, I hope I can change your mind. Making humans fantastical creatures, while still keeping them grounded and logical. You may notice as you read into my lore that I prefer a "Yes, And" approach toward the content in my world. Meaning I like to keep them close to what you would expect, but also offer some options to spice up the norm. By the way, have a human sub-race you want to see? So long as it fits and enriches the lore, I'm open to your submissions.
